Partnerships & Funding

Funding is always scarce, but there are a number of possible sources for local government and community groups interested in implementing community harmony projects.

However it is also important that local councils aim to secure dedicated funds from their core council budget for the purposes of implementing a community cohesion / community harmony strategy.

University Research Funding

In addition to community grants, most universities have research funding programs for research partnerships with the community sector. Many academics are interested in ‘action research’ which can be funded under these schemes. The Australian Research Council also has a ‘Linkage’ program, which is a funds matching research scheme for university-industry (or government or community sector) partnerships.  http://www.arc.gov.au/ncgp/default.htm
